Plastic Strapping Tools - Tensioner and Sealer (Crimper) for Polypropylene Strap | Poly Strapping Tools
Tensioner for Tightening and Sealer for crimping seals
Plastic Strapping Tools - referred to as Hand Tools for Polyproylene Strap
There are two main tools that are needed when using Polyproylene Strapping - a Tensioner & Sealer. These tools are available in both a heavy duty model for people who are using them multiple times a day or a standard model for those users who don't strap often. Poly Strapping kits come with a Tensioner, Sealer , 1000 x Metal Seals and a roll of Plastic Strapping which is 1000m.
A Tensioner is used as the name suggests is used to tighten or tension the the strap around the item or pallet, it uses a ratchet mechanism to tighten the plastic strap to the desired tension before the seal is applied with a poly sealer. The Tensioner also has a cutter unit that is used to cut the strap once the seal has been applied with the sealer.
A Sealer or often referred to as a Crimper is used to seal or crimp metal seals around the plastic strapping to form a embossed join or seal that holds the strap securely in place. Plastic Seals come in the three strap widths - 12mm, 15mm & 19mm which also relates to the width of the seal that is used.
The alternative to hand strapping tools is the ZAPAK battery powered strapping tool.
