The latest on Paper Packaging

Paper packaging over the last 10 years or more has become a popular alterantive to other forms of packaging - especially plastic packaging due to its social acceptability and environmentally friendliness. Below is a list of items that are not only perfectly functional, but attractive too. Lets start from the box up!

Cardboard boxes are available off the shelf in a standard range of sizes - however Get Packed can arrange for custom sizing and designs.

Taping the Box
We have a range of paper tapes that will suit almost any requirement.
Standard Kraft Paper Tapes - Our Ubis range will come straight off a standard tape gun without issue and is available in both a hand roll (25m or 50m)  and a Machine roll (500m) - we even have a printed paper tape that has Fragile printed on it.
Water Activated Tape - This is a paper tape with adhesive that is made from starch which activates when wet. When it is applied to the box it provides that additional security to your package as it can't be removed without lliterally tearing the cardboard on the box. Now Get Packed can even get your water activated tape custom printed with your logo or message. We even have our own! For additional strength it is also available as a 3 way reinforced water activated tape.

Wrapping your goods for added protection & filling the void
You have the choice of plastic padding like Bubble Wrap, but you might consider the below as an alternative which create an attractive yet functional padding and wrap for your goods:
Perforated Cardboard - created using pre-loved boxes and cartons and sending it through your Cardboard Perforator. This can save you a lot of money that might otherwise be spent purchasing other packaging goods and you are re-using already existing packaging without throwing anything away. It can also be used to fill the void in the box. A perfect reduce, re-use and recycle.

Honeycomb Kraft Paper - sold by the roll, it is kraft paper which has been die cut with a honeycomb pattern that doens't break even when streteched to more than 4 times its original length. It can be used (and sold separately) with white Tissue Paper to create an attractive wrap and padding for your goods and can be used on the PackMATE paper dispenser.

Standard Brown Kraft Paper - The difference between the standard kraft paper - which is 80gsm and the honeycomb kraft paper - is the honeycomb is a much lower gsm and has obviously been die cut for stretching. Kraft paper is a more sturdy and robust paper and therefore better for heavier items.

Corrugated Cardboard - commonly used as an altenative to bubble wrap. It is flexible due to its corrugation meaning it is easy to wrap around items, but will otherwise do an even better job than bubble wrap in terms of protection. And it is environmentally friendly and available in a range of widths.

Just filling the void
There are all types of void fillers available in packaging, but when we're looking at just paper packaging then we have 2 basic types (apart from those above that can be used to wrap as well as fill the void).
FasFil Mini - Quite literally a box of fanfolded 100% biodegradable paper that has been placed inside a cardboard dispenser box. A simple to use and efficient system that enables easy access to packing paper that fills the void.

Paper Void System - This is at the other end of the scale from the Fasfil Mini. This is a high-speed paper void dispenser. It creates a dual direction V-shaped paper cushion, using paper that has been perforated to enable broken lengths of paper cushions. It uses a foot pedal or a pre-set adjustable program making it ideal for larger volumes of paper void dispensing.
